Equality League
Founded by Mara Guban, Equality League is an organization that promotes the advancement of women’s rights and gender equality by campaigning to eliminate institutional and cultural barriers to sport. They train and support a global network of Athlete Advocates committed to advancing gender equality & it is comprised of leaders from sport, human rights, and the media supporting campaigns that advance: access to sport; equality in pay and prize money, representation on governing boards, and in the media; and safety from sexual abuse in sport. Their current initiatives include the successful #NoBan4Women campaign to secure access for Iranian women to enter stadiums as spectators of men’s football matches; Equal Pay and Opportunities for the USWNT and women in football worldwide; and reforms to sexual abuse in sport.
